If your toddler is showing the signs of being ready to begin toilet training, that's great. You may feel overwhelmed at the prospect of undertaking this difficult task, but don't. There are many tools available to help you and your toddler with toilet training. Here's my list of toilet training basic equipment:
Toilet Training Pants
It's good to have some toilet training pants.

Toilet training pants are great for the beginner toddler. They are designed to create the look and feel of underwear, but are absorbent like diapers. They are particularly useful for nighttime toilet training.
Mattress Pad
I recommend buying a mattress pad.

A mattress protector is a sheet of plastic to cover your mattress. If you don't use one, your mattress will get soiled. Wet mattresses take a while to dry so you can't put replacement sheets back on it immediately. If you do use one, you basically wipe the protector with a damp towel and it dries in a minute or two.
Toilet Training Seat
A toilet training seat is a must-have.

The toilet is much to big for the tiny bottom of a toddler. Consider buying a toilet training seat. This product inserts into the toilet and makes it much more comfortable for your toddler to go to the bathroom.
Night Light
I recommend buying a night light.

JONNY GLOW is uniquely designed to help toddlers see where you are going in the middle of the night. Once applied to your toilet, the glow-in-the-dark strips of JONNY GLOW™ will help your toddler to accurately use the facilities without missing and creating unwanted mess. With Jonny Glow, trips to the bathroom can now be taken without turning on the bathroom light!
